Over It - Timing Is Everything

Filling the void that Whippersnapper left at Lobster Records, Over It come through in the clutch like a pinch-hit Kirk Gibson homerun. I loved Over It's breakthrough album, "The Ready Series." After that, "Hindsight Is Always 20/20" was a great follow up, and a really solid EP. With that said, obviously I was really excited when I got a package from Lobster Records in the mail. To my enjoyment, but certainly not my surprise, "Timing is Everything," Over It's Lobster Records debut, is even better yet!
Over It play a really great blend of melodic skate-punk. My girlfriend pointed out that their singer sounds like the guy from Alien Ant Farm. She's right, but that's as far as the AAF comparisons go.
Over It's songs are catchy without being annoying, and melodic without losing their edge. This album sucks you in from the first track, "Limiter," and holds on for an awesome 35 minute ride. The first four tracks on "Timing is Everything" really make this disc as great as it is. But don't get me wrong, the rest of the disc is awesome as well. "Timing is Everything" doesn't have any drag. It flows nicely all the way through, making for a really complete album. It's great to see bands that progress and grow into their sound as nicely as Over It have. Major props to Lobster Records on this one!
