Himsa - Death is Infinite
If you've heard Himsa's previous 2 full lengths, get ready to be blown away. They have a new singer by the name of John Pettibone. John used to sing for northwest powerhouses such as Nineironspitfire, and Undertow. I haven't heard much old Himsa, but of what I have heard, this EP blows their previous work out of the water. Pettibone's style, along with his dark lyrics, is what makes the difference. They're like a whole new band. Although this is just a four song EP, (with a bonus live track) it is some awesome, depraving hardcore, and gives a sneak peek as to what the future holds for Himsa. After listening to this EP several times, I can't wait for their upcoming full length! If you want to hear what they sound like, check out their song "Vladimir" on MP3.com. That song is from "The Power Of Ten" compilation 7" on Excursion Records. This is a great EP, and the future looks bright (but oh so dark) for Seattle's Himsa, because they possess every element that I desire in a hardcore band. They're fast, dark, brutal, and play with that in your face intensity that really make them stand out. Check them out!
